And the Survey Says…

30 March 2007

I used to love the Family Feud.  Richard Dawson’s quick wit, watching him kiss all the girls, seeing the families unite for a common goal.  My favorite part was always when they were going down the line offering suggestions, the excitement of knowing they were going to win all that money.  All the family members clap and shout with glee, “good answer, good answer” as each person gave their response… until they got to the dumbest answer possible in which case they fell silent, presumably wondering who invited that idiot to be on the team.  Ah, the memories.

We’re in the midst of conducting our own survey that we do every year.  It’s the 3rd annual Physician Compensation and Relocation Survey and I have to confess that it is difficult to know where to draw the line on these questions.  We’re sending the survey out to a lot of people assuming that 5-10% will respond.  There are literally 100’s of questions I would like to ask in this anonymous setting where doctors felt completely free to be honest, but I know they won’t take that much time for this.

As such, we’ve pared the questions down to just 12 divided into two sections.  The first deals with specialty, where they live, what they earn, etc. and the 6 questions in the second section pertain to how and why they look for jobs.  The questions we’ve narrowed down to will give us a lot of insight and if anyone is reading this who is a physician and would like to participate, the link is posted here:

The results will be available after May 1, 2007 (or sooner) and you can receive a complimentary copy by emailing info@medicuspartners.com and requesting one.

And, know that for each person who is answering, I’m in my office jumping and clapping and yelling “good answer” to each response because this kind of data really does help.  A sincere thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to complete the survey.
