20 May 2010Dallas, Tex. – Jim Stone, managing partner of The Medicus Firm national physician search, has been selected to serve as the Secretary and Treasurer of the National Association of Physician Recruiters (NAPR).
Stone was elected by the Board of Directors of the NAPR in April at the annual association conference, and his term on the Executive Committee is effective immediately. Stone has been an active participant of the NAPR since 2003, with Medicus Partners, which merged with The MD Firm in 2009 to form The Medicus Firm.
“I look forward to the opportunity to serve in an even more active role within the Association,” Stone states, “working with the recruiting firms, hospital recruiters, and all members of the NAPR over the years has been a highlight of my career. I enjoy my role as an ambassador of the association and a steward of the physician recruiting industry.”
Mr. Stone has worked in the physician recruiting industry since 1995. After being promoted from a recruiting role to a Director level manager, and then a Vice President, Mr. Stone applied his extensive recruiting, management, and executive experience to creating an IT recruiting firm, and then co-founded Medicus Partners with colleague Bob Collins in 2001.
The NAPR consists of about 300 member organizations, representing over 1,000 individual recruiters. Its mission is to provide educational and informational forums to assist members in navigating changes in the healthcare industry effectively. The association also is dedicated to the “enhancement of all physician recruiting activities through a spirit of openness and cooperation, in the exchange of ideas and pooling of resources,” according to their mission statement on their website.
The Medicus Firm is a national retained search firm specializing in placement of physicians and mid-level providers (NPs, PAs, CRNAs, etc.) with a track record of success in 47 states and nearly every medical specialty. In addition to co-owners Stone and Collins, the firm is also owned and managed by Kevin Perpetua, and Steve Marsh, founders of former The MD Firm. Each managing partner has a minimum of 15 years of experience in physician recruiting and management. The Medicus Firm’s tenured recruiting team consists of about 25 recruiters, averaging more than nine years of experience for each associate, for a combined total of more than 230 years of recruiting background.
